Ahead of their upcoming North American tour kickoff, Good Morning return with two new singles – “Dog Years” and “Queen of Comedy.” Written separately, the double drop features one track written/performed by each member complete with string, horn, and orchestral arrangements written and produced by the duo, recorded at their former Preston studio base - listen to both below.
On his track "Dog Years," Liam Parsons shares:
"Can’t believe I’m writing this sentence, but Liz Phair graciously allowed us to use some lyrics from 'F**k and Run' for the end of the song. It kinda sounds like Bruce Springsteen if he made evil clown synth pop?"
While Stefan Blair explains of "Queen of Comedy" which features a string quartet of Chloe Sanger (violin, arrangement), Lucy Rash (violin), Jenny Thomas (viola) and Kiya Van Der Linden-Kian (cello):
"While the first few lines may seem like it, it is not a song about having a God complex. When working on the string arrangement, I asked Chloe to make it sound like a less French version of Serge Gainsbourg’s 'Melody'."
See Good Morning in duo mode supporting Frankie Cosmos across North America later this month before they embark on a full-band headline run through California - tickets on sale now.
