Bachelor – the supergroup of Jay Som (Melina Duterte) and Palehound (Ellen Kempner) – released their critically-acclaimed debut album Doomin’ Sun on May 28th. Since then the band has shared full-band sessions for KEXP, as well as #PlayAtHome The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and raised almost $10,000 for Seeding Sovereignty via Doomin’ Sun Fest – a free telethon celebrating climate, community and compassion. Fans can watch the Best of Doomin' Sun Fest now, featuring performances by Tegan & Sara, Benjamin Gibbard, Frankie Cosmos & more + a full-album concert performance from Bachelor.
Today, we get a new single from the group titled "I See It Now" – listen below: “Back in January when Bachelor was filming our music videos for Doomin Sun, we found ourselves with a day to kill at Ellen’s house in Poughkeepsie. Ellen had assembled a small recording setup in her basement that she was mystified by and still figuring out how to work so we decided to record a song to mess around with the gear. Melina wrote the creepy intro keyboard part and we built the song from there. What came was “I See It Now”, a kind of lethargic muse on sexual regret and insecurity.”
