On the new live EP, Live at The Crumb, Pedro the Lion shares four tracks recorded live at the same Seattle studio where the band’s recent album Santa Cruz was tracked. These recordings feature David Bazan (drums & vocals), Erik Walters (electric guitar & backing vocals), and Rebecca Cole (synth & keyboard bass). Three of the songs appear on Santa Cruz, while the last is a cover of Grandaddy’s “Taster.”
Santa Cruz is David Bazan’s new chapter in an ambitious and ongoing recording project - 5 albums devoted to places he lived in throughout his life. The album is Bazan’s third in the series and follows up where 2022’s Havasu and 2019’s Phoenix left off. The stories on Santa Cruz highlight Bazan’s teenage years and solidifies what he sees as an exposition in a traditional three-act structure.
