Most Serene Republic, an Arts & Crafts band (Broken Social Scene, Stars), hails from Ontario, Canada. The influence they bring ranges from everything that is beautiful today and everything that was clever of yesterday. Their sound is an intoxicating reminder of what's good about everything that is right now -- but also a warning that if you stand in one place, the shadows can overtake you.

Headlights' sound is traditional rock instrumentation mixed with keyboards, pedal steel, violin, glockenspiel, electronics, and boy/girl harmonies. "Put Us Back Together Right" was recorded after the release of the group's debut The Enemies EP -- an album that enabled Headlights to tour with bands such as of Montreal, Mono and Crooked Fingers. The song was later re-worked for inclusion on the band's first full-length, Kill Them with Kindness.

Tracklist

  • Tragedy of the Commons
  • Put Us Back Together Right (7" Version)

Reviews

  • A lush spacey hybrid of the Postal Service and BrokenSocial Scene... and all the hype they've been getting because of theirconnection with the latter is more than warranted.
