At the time of its release, Please Drive Faster was the first new Braid material in over a year (following the release of Frame and Canvas) -- and they ended up being the last original songs the band would ever record until 2011's Closer to Closed.

The 7" was recorded during Braid's last studio session in late May 1999 at Coney Island Studios in Madison, WI with Mark Haines (Rainer Maria's Look Now Look Again).

The now out-of-print 7" was pressed on white vinyl.
