Straight off of forthcoming album La Isla Bonita is Deerhoof's music video for "Mirror Monster." Inspired in a backwards fashion of seeing footage and then writing a song, "Mirror Monster" is a melange of lemon cars being smashed to smithereens by heavy machinery. Watch from a digitally safe distance as windshields explode into shards of glittering glass, producing beauty from a former trash heap.

Says Saunier: "It's about the coming of darkness and shame over our empirical legacy that it's too late to erase. Even though it's a ballad I think it's the most punk-rock song on the record."
