Recorded primarily at Jackpot Studios in Portland, OR, with additional mixing and overdubs done at the band's home studio in Kansas City, MO, Talk Loud is both fun and scary at the same time. The Kansas City quintet push themselves artistically at nearly every turn, crafting 11 songs that explore new instrumentation, intricate vocal harmonies, and endearing, yet at times dark lyrics resulting in some of the band's best work to date. Talk Loud is cinematic, sparkly, jumpy, and haunting – a group of songs that have the heart-string-yanking ability of music concocted in a laboratory, while still feeling heavily human.
Following the previous released pop-gold "Trash", today we get "View From The Sky" – an album standout that blends doo-wop backing vocals. Consequence of Sound premiered the official music video, directed by the band's own Kyle Little who shared the following –
"On one hand "View From the Sky" is our supervillain cosplay act. A Satirical anthem for the hated. When we write about the overlords of our era (Bezos, Kushner, Trump, etc.) it’s because we hate the unfettered capitalism but fantasize about the lifestyles of the rich and famous; because we hate ourselves for wanting what they have. But it helps to name the ways they’re evil, and recognize hints of that behavior within us. On the other hand it’s good clean fun. It’s us letting loose and maybe dancing a bit. It’s us writing a pop song with corny riffs because we desperately need to laugh in a world that’s completely fucked. Or an admission, perhaps. We CAN write a badass pop song if we try. But we cannot be cool no matter how hard we try."
