We're honored to share that Hum is re-issuing its four-album catalog on vinyl with exclusive distribution by Polyvinyl Records. The band members oversaw every step of the re-mastering, lacquer cutting, and manufacturing stages while working with original designer Andy Mueller/OhioGirl in updating the artwork. Each album is offered in a double-LP 180g set in either black or a color variant - set to ship on December 8.

Originally formed in 1989 in Champaign-Urbana by singer and guitarist Matt Talbot, the band solidified its classic line-up on Electra 2000, with longtime members Bryan St. Pere on drums, joining in 1990, followed by bassist Jeff Dimpsey in 1992, and guitarist Tim Lash in 1993. Their iconic sophomore album and major label debut, You’d Prefer An Astronaut, was released in 1995 by RCA Records, debuting at #1 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart. The album’s lead single “Stars” gained significant mainstream exposure at Alternative Radio as well as MTV. Their beloved third album, Downward Is Heavenward, was released in 1998 – a year later, Pitchfork placed the album on their list of the Top 100 Albums of the 1990s.
