Owen (Mike Kinsella) is excited to finally announce their first in-person + live gigs since the release of The Avalanche. “After having it all taken away from me for over a year,” says Kinsella, “I realize just how much I’ve taken traveling, and playing in front of people, and spending time with old friends and complete strangers for granted, and I can’t wait to fully appreciate every aspect of it again.” A full list of upcoming tour dates can be found below – tickets onsale this Friday, July 23rd at 10am local.

Owen has been anything but complacent during the time off the road. Today Kinsella shares the wide release of his cover of The 1975’s "Me". The song was recorded by him while in quarantine using only his phone, and originally appeared on the Bandcamp only Polyvinyl benefit compilation, Stay Home. The hauntingly beautiful cover finds Kinsella adding a backbone of acoustic strumming in his signature style, giving the song a more stripped-down feel while showcasing the emotionally powerful lyrics found on the original – “The original version of this song wrecks me in the best way possible and I wanted to feel what it would feel like to sing some of those brilliantly devastating lines for myself.”

The tour announcement also follows last month's surprise release of The Avalanche Remixes. A remix album of every song on the original with contributions from Jay Som, Thao Nguyen, NNAMDÏ, Now, Now, Norman Brannon, and Hrishikesh Hirway among others.
