Polyvinyl is very excited to announce the release of three new 7"s today: Japandroid's Heavenward Grand Prix, the Deerhoof / Physical Forms split Hoofdriver, and Sharon Van Etten's I'm Giving Up On You!

Deerhoof / Physical Forms - Hoofdriver

Side A of Hoofdriver features Regan Farquhar, better known as Busdriver, singing over a Deerhoof instrumental track and Side B showcases Farquhar's latest project, Physical Forms, which features members of The Mae Shi. The 7" is the first of a possible series of Deerhoof 7"s featuring guest vocalists singing self-composed lyrics and new vocal melodies over music composed by Deerhoof. The B-side will feature exclusive tracks from the vocalist's band.

Japandroids - Heavenward Grand Prix

Finding it difficult to record a full album while in the midst of a heavy touring schedule behind 2009's acclaimed Post-Nothing, Japandroids devised a 7" series as a way to give something back to its fans. Recorded during the duo's brief period of time off between tours, each two-song 7" in the five-part series will include an A-side ofpreviously unreleased material written during the Post-Nothing sessions and a cover B-side. Heavenward Grand Prix, the third 7" in the series, features the title track along with a cover of "Shame" by PJ Harvey.

Sharon Van Etten - I'm Giving Up On You

After releasing her critically acclaimed debut Because I Was In Love, Sharon Van Etten has been hard at work -- singing on The Antlers' album Hospice (which received Pitchfork Best New Music as well as other accolades) and performing at Pitchfork Music Festival, as well as collaborating live with Bon Iver and The National. In addition, Van Etten found time to record two exclusive songs for this 7". Both songs were recorded by Greg Weeks (Espers) at Hexham Head Studio (Marisa Nadler, Bonnie Prince Billy). Although I'm Giving Up On You has already sold out, you can still purchase a digital download of the 7" below.
