Kero Kero Bonito are a band from London, England. They met on a web forum in 2013. Their singer, Sarah, was born in Nagoya to a Japanese mother and British father, before moving to Kenilworth, UK at the age of 13, while producers Gus and Jamie have been friends since school. Kero Kero Bonito built a pop universe on their debut mixtape, Intro Bonito (2014), and album, Bonito Generation (2016), with Sarah's bilingual stories and General MIDI modules. They toured Europe, America and Japan and their song "Flamingo" went viral.
In 2017, the band returned to the suburbs amidst changes in their personal lives. They wrote songs on the instruments they grew up with and started playing together as a band for the first time. TOTEP, released in February 2018, debuted this configuration. It featured a guitarist (James Rowland) on every song and was recorded by Jimmy Robertson (Arctic Monkeys, Ride, Fuck Buttons).
