Hope you all are ready for some EXCITING news, because we've got some for you! Sydney, Australia's Julia Jacklin has officially joined the Polyvinyl family! We'll be releasing her beautiful new album later this year in North America. Trust us, you're going to love it!

Growing up in Australia’s Blue Mountains (west of Sydney, Australia) to a family of teachers, Jacklin had always imagined she would become a social worker. But after a series of events led her head-first into music, there was no turning back. Feeling inspired, Jacklin took to educating herself: From Fiona Apple she learned to be bold with words; from Anna Calvi, the cut and presence of electric guitar; and from Angel Olsen, that interpretation triumphs over technique.

For the past serval years Jacklin has lived in a garage in Glebe (a suburb of Sydney), working a day job on a factory production line making essential oils, all the while finding time to hone her craft – to examine her turns of phrase, to observe the stretching of her friendship circles, to wonder who she was and who she might become. And now, as Jacklin quits her factory job to focus solely on a music career, the future she had once imagined is becoming her present day reality.
