Maybe it was the constant touring with sweaty shows that guaranteed mosh pits, or the slamming force of nature garage punk, or the anthemic howls for night to never end. Whatever it was, Japandroids' "Younger Us" (#92) and "The House That Heaven Built" (#28) ended up on Pitchfork's "The Top 200 Tracks of 2010-2014".

"King screams, his voice sounding as if he believes that all you need is two tin cans and some string to reach the entire world, about houses made of light and blushing bodies being forged in some personification of the afterlife—you know, poetry shit—before leveling any and all pretense with one devastating couplet: 'If they try to slow you down/ Tell ‘em all to go to hell.'"
