"Phoenix is a prescient title. It’s both a return home and a rise from ashes." - Paste

Already wading through holiday feels? Get ready for more where that came from. Today Pedro The Lion shares another look into their first album since 2004's Achilles Heel – listen to "Model Homes" off Phoenix now.

Phoenix maps out the emotional intricacies of growing up in Arizona with the songs themselves a darkly hopeful introspection into home and what it means to go back, if you ever can. It is an ode to the place David Bazan still loves despite how alien it can appear to him now. He had this to say about their latest single –
“A redwood tree, properly starved for resources, might easily mistake itself for a saguaro cactus and learn to feel at home in the desert.”

"Model Homes"follows the Jason Lester-directed video for the album's debut single, "Yellow Bike," which the band recently performed live for NPR's Tiny Desk.
