Diane Coffee have shared "The Great Escape," the second single from their new album With People, (out April 29). The jangly tune arrives alongside a charming self-directed video –

“I had a friend in high school who wanted nothing more than to get out of, what she called, our ‘one horse town.’ She was two years my senior and one of the first friends I knew to actually pack up and leave as soon as she was able. Looking back now, she didn’t actually go all that far. In fact, she didn’t even leave the state. But to me, the nine hour drive to San Francisco seemed like a world away,” explains Diane Coffee architect Shaun Fleming

“I remember my first road trip to see her. At that point, I’d never really hit the open road. It was new and exciting. I listened to The Who’s Tommy the whole way and dreamed of travel and discovery.” Watch below.

Produced by Jonathan Rado (Weyes Blood, The Killers), With People is both new territory for Diane Coffee, as well as a full-circle return to their roots. It's their most intimate and personal to date, a collection of diaristic ruminations and contemplative observations of the people in their life, yet also feels universal in impact.
