Last month we got our first peek at Chris Farren's new album, Born Hot, with the crazy-catchy "Search 4 Me" (accompanied by the music video to end all music videos). Elsewhere on the record Farren shifts from exacting introspection to more outward reflection, exploring life-changing matters with an undeniable sincerity. Today's newly-released single "Surrender" is about "the end of a friendship and that weird uncertainty surrounding it," Chris explains. For the last month, a billboard featuring a crudely-drawn self portrait of Chris Farren has adorned the top of a building on one of the busiest streets in Los Angeles. In giant letters reads: 1-810-BORN-HOT. The Hot-Line gave fans a preview of the album’s first single in lieu of hold music. It’s this sensitive-goofball dichotomy that has become the true signature of Chris Farren, extending into his exuberant live show and just about everything else, too.
