Billboard Exclusive: hear Post Animal’s seismic new track “Fitness” + in-depth interview
~ FMG SZN 2020 ~
Chicago’s Post Animal will release their cosmic sophomore record Forward Motion Godyssey next month, and today they share another bop off the forthcoming album. Following the previously released "Safe or Not (Extended Mix)," and "Schedule," "Fitness" is about persistence in the face of loss.
"Everyone experiences loss,” the band explains. “Fitness is partially an examination of our response to loss. It explores the efforts we make to find peace, and how in some ways ‘effort’ is one definition of a good life. We hope you enjoy our futurist psycho-ballad."
Listen to the track and read more about the 5-piece's new song in their current feature with Billboard.
Written in eight days and co-produced by the band’s Dalton Allison and collaborator Adam Thein, Forward Motion Godyssey finds Post Animal endlessly shapeshifting as they explore new sonic touchstones and expand on their psych-rock origins. Pre-order your exclusive Early Bird copy now on Color-in-Color (Black & Transparent Yellow) from the Polyvinyl Store. Bundle with a glowing Nalgene or luminous hat for deep discounts.
Also announcing today is Post Animal's headline tour! The band will make their way across North America this spring. Tickets onsale this Friday, January 10th. They'll head to the UK/EU in a few weeks to open for Cage The Elephant on select dates.
