It's rather timely that Beach Slang's "Hard Luck Kid" was chosen as Austin-based KUTX's Song of the Day. The band had a spell of rough luck after recently being robbed in Seattle on their current tour. Thankfully they were able to recover their van & trailer, albeit sans gear. But the beat goes on for these crushers, so ahead of their show in Austin tonight KUTX had the following to say:

"...Beach Slang’s DIY spirit is keeping the band going, and they’re returning to Austin for a show tonight at the Barracuda. The group takes the Replacements’ scruffy handbook and runs with it, playing arena rock with punk abandon. Last year, Beach Slang showed off this sound live in our Studio 1A. “Hard Luck Kid” is a particularly defiant jam, but let’s hope Beach Slang gets some better luck."

Agreed. They aren't missing a show and neither should you! Go hug these sweethearts if you can.
