33 years after Kurt Cobain screamed “I’d better wait” on “Territorial Pissings”, Anamanaguchi revisits Nirvana’s beloved-and-overlooked song to see where things are now. Though their typically instrumental music has featured outside vocalists in the past, this cover sees the band's own Peter Berkman step into the role of lead singer. Watch the official visualizer created by Aaron Chan & Gil Lawson below.
Hatsune Miku opens the track with her best Krist Novoselic impression, delivering the cynical lines about world peace. From there, Anamanaguchi attacks the track with a loadout of blown out guitars, raw Nintendo soundchips, and pixelated screams. Mixed by Dave Fridmann (MGMT, Magdalena Bay) at Tarbox Road Studios, this take on the song reminds us that just because you’re paranoid, doesn't mean they’re not after you.
