Was this year even real?

Short Answer: No.
Long Answer: (uhhhh, where do I begin?)

After two years of wavering in the wind along with the rest of the world, our Polyvinyl family is bigger and badder than ever before. And, it's a good thing, too, because the landscape of music (and, well, everything) has never quite looked like it does today. It's for that reason we feel so lucky to have faced the evolutionary challenge that was 2022 together, releasing music by/with/for the most beautiful of folks.

Sappy sentiments aside… this year we celebrated our 25th anniversary(!!!) with a grand total of 27 releases, 36 music videos, and a 5-episode podcast detailing our rise to ~*Record Label Royalty*~. We literally painted the town with wheatpastings and billboards to usher the return of heavy-hitters Alvvays and Julia Jacklin as Momma's PV debut made the band a Household Name

For the first time in three years, our official SXSW showcase returned to Austin, TX with a vengeance, spotlighting some of our newest signees Plato III, IAN SWEET, MAN ON MAN and Charlotte Cornfield alongside our label partners Double-Double Whammy and Keeled Scales. Not long after, we welcomed Father/Daughter Records to the family, effectively rounding out a quadfecta of indie excellence.

In the midst of it all, we reissued the entirety of Good Morning's catalogue on vinyl, signed LIES (the new outfit from American Football's Mike and Nate Kinsella), and collaborated with Hannah Pahl and Oxford Pennant on some charming new label merch.

Not too shabby, huh?

From the bottom of our hearts: Thank you. To 2023 (digital cheers).

hehe,
Polyvinyl Records
