"'Magnet’ is a love song with some extreme feelings–an almost dark romance that feels like it's gliding out of control in a blissful way,” the band explains. “We realized after the fact that this balance is a key part of the formula for Batman music.”

In a stunning work of autofiction, Anamanaguchi brought on director Jared Raab to pull from his experience on 2025 SXSW Film standout Nirvanna the Band the Show the Movie to showcase the band’s new sound within the Gotham City universe.

Raab applies his meticulous directing style to the lost art of the movie tie-in music video by incorporating the band members into pivotal scenes from the franchise’s various films since 1989–all in an effort, as delusional as it is genuine, to pitch the song to be on the next movie’s soundtrack.

“We're tired of old, hugely popular songs getting reworked as orchestral versions for movie trailers... memorable hooks slowed down & drenched in reverb," says Anamanaguchi of their Batman collaboration which has yet to be formally sanctioned. “We want to make something new.”
